Cycorder

Another of my favorite apps is the Cycorder. It is a video camera for your iPhone! I have only used it a couple times since putting it on my phone but love it none the less. It is very straight forward and very easy to use with only two buttons. One for record, and one to show the videos that have been recorded. Here is a video of two of my cats that think they are ninjas! You might have to turn up the sound, because I didn't want to get too close or they would stop this hilarious event. Enjoy!!

This video is a little over a minute and is 30Mb! I found another tool on www.hackthatphone.com that will cut down the size of the video. This one was converted to almost 6Mb...that's one fifth the original size and now it is able to be emailed. The app is called iSquint and is available on this page. Just go almost to the bottom, Step 3 is where Mark (@hackthatphone.com) talks about iSquint and makes it available for free.

I have to give props to Mark. He is a one man show and has put a lot of time and effort into his website www.hackthatphone.com. There is a lot of great information that is very easy to understand and follow and I have used it for my iPhone. I have donated to him for this wonderful information and think if you can, please donate to him, too. Thanks for reading.

Intelliscreen

I have to say, one of the best apps to download from Cydia, is Intelliscreen. This is an app that I use on a daily basis, but unfortunately it is not free. You do get a 10 day trial that is free, but after that it costs $9.99 for now for customer appreciation month. I don't know how much it is after that. Here are a couple of screen shots from the Intelliborn website where you can purchase the liscense:

This information is shown on the lock screen and it can be formatted to your liking with two pages. You can look at your calendar, SMS, mail, sports scores, weather, and/or news without unlocking your phone! This is the best $10 I have spent in a while.

Cydia

Cydia is the third party application distribution program specifically for jailbroken iPhones. There is a website that can give you all of the information about what to do now that you have Cydia on your iPhone. This is a guy, like me, that wants to get this information/how to out to everyone that wants to make their iPhone, theirs. Here is his website page about Cydia. He has a lot of great information that I have used as well. Check out the rest of his links to learn about hacking, changing, improving your iPhone. I will still explain which programs/hacks I have used and give my opinion of them. Till then, happy hacking!!

In the beginning....

So I might as well start from the beginning. The way to jailbreak your iPhone is to follow one of these links, depending on which platform you are using:
As their disclaimer says, so shall I say as well:
Disclaimer - I take no responsibility for any problems/issues/bricking/etc. that may occur while using this software to modify your iPhone. Please be aware of what you are doing.

If you have any questions, I might be able to help, but otherwise, you are on your own.

My first blog....about the iPhone

Hi, my name is Eric and this is just a place for my friends and anyone else that is interested in making their iPhone a better device. I'm not saying that the iPhone is not a great device to begin with but jailbreaking is a way to make it "yours". You will have the ability to change the background, change the lock screen, change the icons, have the icon names not showing (which makes for a cleaner look), and much much more. Here is a preview of what I have accomplished with jailbreaking my iPhone.

If this is something that interests you, or if you have any questions/comments, let me know. I am always ready to share my experiences with you.
